Corresponding

Pronunciation: /ˌkɒr.əˈspɒn.dɪŋ/ Explain

Features on two geometric figures are corresponding features if they are identical in all important respects.[1]

Using figure 1, if the length of side AD is the same as the length of side EH then line segments AD and EH are corresponding line segments and we say AD corresponds to EH.

Elements of two matrices are corresponding if they are in the same row and column. In figure 2, corresponding elements are the same color. Notice that corresponding elements may not have the same value.
